RON MACANNAN'S

PURSUIT

“I've narrowed down the things
I have to take care of on the boat
to a little under 500.”

– RON MACANNAN

Ron MacAnnan was a Sausalito legend and proud owner of one of the most impeccable vessels in the Sausalito Yacht Harbor – one of the last of the M Class boats  –  an 82′ sloop, Pursuit.  A sleek wooden racing yacht built in 1929, Pursuit is truly one-of-a-kind and is a showstopper for passersby on the waterfront.  Ron MacAnnan and Pursuit are intertwined by time and experience. One would not be without the other. In this portrait Ron tells his story of how he acquired Pursuit, his unique part in Sausalito’s history, and the wisdom earned by years of simply aiming for the horizon.

Sadly, on March 2, 2018, Ron MacAnnan fell overboard from his yacht Pursuit and drowned in the Sausalito Yacht Harbor. He was 92.

The harbor just isn’t the same with Ron. He is truly missed by many.

Rest in paradise, old salt.
